Anna Massie was the winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2003 Award. A talented multi-instrumentalist, she excels in playing the fiddle, mandolin and tenor banjo, though perhaps most impressive is her guitar playing.
Another winner – of the PRS Composer of the Year award at the 2009 MG Alba Scots Music Awards – is Mairearad Green, who is renowned for her deft and lyrical accordion style and is acknowledged as “one of Scotland’s finest musical exports”.
